Lead Innovation Designer

Your role
As Lead Innovation Designer at Yellowchess, you will steer groundbreaking projects with social relevance. You move effortlessly between strategy and practice, between decision-makers and residents, and between insight and action.
You help organisations develop new perspectives on complex issues and translate these into concrete action. You guide processes from research and vision development through to experiments, concepts and implementation.
In doing so, you will work closely with the experts within our team. You know how to bring the right people together to tackle an issue, combine different areas of expertise and ensure that the team as a whole achieves the best possible result. In doing so, you not only provide guidance on the substance of the work, but also act as the unifying force within projects and bear ultimate responsibility for achieving the intended results.
In addition, you will actively build lasting relationships with clients. You understand their context, identify opportunities and, together with them, develop new avenues for further impact. Always grounded in substance, trust and a shared ambition to bring about social change.
What will you do?
- Leading breakthrough projects from insight to implementation
- Ultimate responsibility for achieving the intended results
- Leading multidisciplinary project teams and guiding clients and stakeholders through complex breakthrough processes
- Facilitating co-creation, workshops and strategic meetings
- Translating social issues into clear and widely supported proposed solutions
- Developing new concepts, strategies and interventions
- Presenting insights and proposals to clients, management teams and directors
- Identifying new opportunities and areas for development within existing partnerships
- Contribute to the further development of Yellowchess as an agency and design practice
What do you bring?
- At least five years’ experience in design, innovation, strategy or transition issues
- Experience in leading complex projects and collaborative processes
- The ability to bring people, interests and perspectives together
- Strong skills in facilitation, presentation and stakeholder management
- Experience with design thinking, social design, and innovation and change methodologies
- The ability to provide guidance in situations where the answer is not yet clear
- You are enterprising and naturally take ownership and responsibility.
- Excellent command of the Dutch language
- Curiosity, creativity and the ambition to make a social impact
